Yes indeed, this bowl looks like a wooden bowl. However, it’s a hand-poured resin bowl made in my Florida studio.
I was shocked when it came out of the mould with “wood-grain” throughout. The rim has a strikingly rustic and beautiful abalone shell rim that gives the bowl a touch of glam. This would make a handsome coffee table bowl in a man’s office. Its beefy and strong appearance gives it great masculine characteristics. A resin bowl is definitely a lot more useable and durable, than a wooden bowl.
Abalone shell is believed to carry the calming, protective energy of the ocean—soothing emotions, encouraging compassion, and restoring a sense of inner balance. Its luminous layers symbolize harmony and gentle emotional healing, making this bowl a grounding piece for moments of reflection, intention-setting, or quiet beauty in the home.
Unlike real marble, stone, wood, or concrete bowls, this resin bowl is non-porous, meaning it will not absorb oils, acids, or moisture. Citrus, vinegar, wine, skin oils, and everyday use won’t stain or darken the surface over time. The result is a bowl that maintains its beauty while being far more practical for modern living.
Why Resin Over Stone or Concrete?
• Non-porous — resists staining and discoloration
• Significantly lighter than stone or concrete
• Durable and chip-resistant
• Smooth, sealed surface — no dusting or crumbling
• Designed for everyday functional use
While resin costs more than concrete, it offers superior performance, longevity, and finish—making this bowl a refined alternative rather than a compromise.

I used professional grade resin that has a heat rating of 475F. The resin contains special UV stabilizers and non-yellowing formula for many years of use. The bowl should not be used in an oven or on direct heat.
Perfect as a centerpiece, catch-all, or serving bowl, this piece brings elevated aesthetics into your home—without the drawbacks of natural stone or wood.
